At the office of Andrew Cole DDS, our goal is to protect your oral health by using any means available to preserve your natural teeth. But despite our best efforts, there still may come a time when removing the tooth is the healthiest option.
Supportive, Compassionate Care
Tooth loss for any reason can be devastating. You not only have to face the prospect of living with a missing tooth, but you are also most likely a little stressed about going through the procedure itself.
Our team believes in building long-term relationships to create a trusting environment where you always feel comfortable. Gaining your trust goes a long way toward putting you at ease and making your treatment as stress-free as possible.
Why Extraction is Necessary
Our goal, of course, is to preserve teeth for as long as we possibly can, so extraction is never our first option. However, any of the following situations may make tooth extraction necessary:
- Severe decay or advanced gum disease that can't be treated
- Cracks or fractures of a tooth below the gumline
- Denture therapy that requires removal of some teeth
- Alignment issues or to prepare for orthodontics
- Wisdom teeth are causing crowding
It’s crucial for you to be part of the decision-making process, and we will take the time to answer your questions and explain why the procedure is necessary.
We Put Your Comfort First
Dr. Cole has performed many extractions for adults and children. His skill and gentle touch, combined with updated dental techniques, make extraction safe and efficient, minimizing stress and post-operative discomfort.
Our caring team is very sensitive to your concerns and will do everything possible to make sure you are comfortable. When you need to have a tooth extracted, you can be sure that our compassionate team will be with you every step of the way to support and encourage you.
If you need a little more help to relax, we also offer both nitrous oxide and oral sedation. Nitrous oxide will help calm you just for the duration of your treatment so you will be able to return to your usual daily routine after you leave our office. Oral sedation is deeper and stays in your body longer so you will need a friend or family member to get you to and from your appointment.
If you need a tooth extracted on an emergency basis, you can be sure we will get you in for treatment as quickly as possible – usually the same day.
